Residential society has disallowed using lift while relocation.

Dear Sir,

I stay on the 4th floor and our residential society has decided not to allow usage of lifts for shifting household items during relocation. As I am living on the 4th floor, so it's almost impossible for me to get any Packers and Movers to agree on carrying the items through stairs.

Please guide me.

If the lifts are not suitable to carry heavy luggage, the society can not be blamed. I dont think packers and movers wont agree for carrying items to 4th floor. They would charge more.

Thanks for your reply. The lifts are designed for 400Kg and were being used for last 4 years.

Also my concern is carrying these items through stairs is not safe and carry a big risk of breakage.

You give a written undertaking to the society for taking care of the damages if any caused. Mostly they will allow.

Thankyou Sir. In case they still don't allow, can I do something? The reason of being so skeptical is that there is a clear divide between Owners and Tenants in our society and as the committee is run by owners, so the decisions taken are kind of against tenants.
