purchase of agricultural land

sir,
we had agricultural land in gujarat,which was acquired by the govt.to
build the express highway in the year2000
since then we had no agricultural land.can we purchase the agricultural land in gujarat at present?

You were agriculturist prior to 2000 due to act/ acquisition of land by Govt you are not operating Agricultural activities - there is no wrong in purchasing Agri land and continuing Agricultural operations - subject to Gujarat local Revenue Laws !
