extension of retainership

If we appoint Mr. X on retainership basis, what should be the retainership period, whether retainership period can be extended? If yes, for how much period and how many times? Kindly provide detailed expert advice.

It depends upon the contract of retainership

Dear Mr. Ramavtar,
It is for the parties to the Agreement to decide about what should be the retainership period, on what conditions the retainership would be extended in future etc. There is no legal bar / limitation in this regard. The parties are free to decide themselves according to their mutual understanding and convenience.
