Regarding help

Hello to all Sir,i am a law student and i am asking a question/problem of my friend.He has recently got a job in FCI as an assistant but he has used fake marksheet of graduation to get the job.So what kind of punishment can he get if it gets revealed?And can he lead a good life thereafter as he is regretting to what he has done.
So sir,please give your valuable opinion in this regard.

He can be booked for cheating and forgery. he might have to spend time behind bars, beside losing his job.
