Seperate Wills...

(Querist) 06 January 2011 This query is : Resolved
Can one make separate wills for separate properties.

How will these wills be probated later - together or separately ...
Amit Minocha (Expert) 06 January 2011
yes it can be made,

if separate beneficiaries, then the beneficiaries would have to file respective probates thereafter.
A V Vishal (Expert) 06 January 2011
The rule of wills is the latest will succeeds all the previous wills made by the testator, hence such wills which you intend will surely have legal complications and so it is not advisable to execute different wills.

But we often see Wills made along with Power of Attorneys in case of lease hold properties in DDA in Delhi.

It is mentioned in these Wills that the Will is made in Respect of certain property only and also
There is no clause of Revoking previous Wills.

Still should a Clause be inserted that states that this will wont revoke my earlier will regarding my other properties.

Thank You.
