Time limit on inheritance?

Is there any time limit on claiming inheritance? Can heirs avail of will, obtain succession certificate (in case of no will), or other document showing claim to estate of deceased any time after death or is there a time limit?

No time limit is there to obtain any proof for inheritance.

Right to claim partition on the basis of law inheritence is a continuing cause of action. hence there is no time limit.
