Hi, I want to know that if any property found abandoned by police and police has not register any case or not connected with any crime number can be released by Court. Generally Court release the vehicle if it is connected with any offense otherwise decline to release the vehicle. What is the latest law or ruling for release of abandoned vehicle by the Magistrate.

police will make record of found vehicle and keep with them (of course with usual carelessness)
owner of vehicle or person having right to possess vehicle has to prove his title/possession and claim it

Generally police releases after confirming ownership. If it is not done it is declared as "Lawaris" and can be released by District Magistrate.

Sir, I want to know whether Judicial Magistrate/Chief Judicial Magistrate has right to release that vehicle if ownership proved by the applicant. However vehicle is not seized in any crime number. Is there any ruling or law on this point.

if it is not seized, drive out vehicle with your key
