Heard from someone that legal firms are exempt of service tax. is it true?

Yes,legal firms are exempt of service tax.

Thank you for the information. Can you kindly tell why legal firm is provided this exemption? I think bar council demanded and got this? But what were the arguments provided in this support? I wish to know why legal firms should get this imunity. I am thinking of filing a PIL against it.
