Minimum wages act

(Querist) 10 July 2013 This query is : Resolved 
Dear Sir,

A Company engages a graduate as a trainee for six months and then regularise him on roll. Is the company liable to pay him minimum wages as per Minimum Wages Act while he is retained as trainee.

The company pays him minimum wages prescribed but bifurcate the amount partly as service charges and partly as conveyance reimbursement as otherwise TDS is deductible.

yes, since the the total amount of wages exceed with minimum wages as such no further action is needed.
