What is the difference between joint tenancy and co tenancy. Whether the notice of eviction to all the LR of original tenant is compulsory. Please provide any citaition in this regard.
N. AKSHAY BERI (Expert) 27 July 2011
Joint tenancy is a form of ownership by two or more individuals together, they can be legal heirs.
Co-Tenancy is when two unrelated people jointly remain as tenant in same property.
no service of notice to one of the legasl heir is sufficient but in order to avoid any problem in future it is better to serve notice to all the legal heirs,as sometimes there is difference among legal heirs also.
