Weights & Measurement Acts & Rules regarding change in MRP

Dear all,
It is specified in the Rules of Weights & Measures Rules that wehenever the MRP of the product is reduced, the manufacturer can strike off the old MRP (visibly) and put new MRP on the package.
However, no where in the entire Act or Rule thereto as to what procedures is required to be followed in in case of increase in MRP.
Request your opinion on the above.

Correcting the MRP to increase the MRP is prohibited. MRP shown on the package cannot be increased.
If the manufacturer changes the MRP then the only way that he can do is to get the carton /package reprinted with the correct higher MRP.
