Entering the names of legal heirs

if the property is situated in one state and legal heirs of the deceased live in another state, where should the legal heirship certificate be obtained for entering their names into records?
Property is situated in Andhra Pradesh and Legal Heirs live in Maharashtra

In A P you cannot obtain LH certificate, however a family members certificate can be obtained.

For matters which involve legal matters like property etc, they will have to approach the courts for getting the legal heir certificate.
Once the application is filed in the court, it will send the application to the mandal revenue officer who will have to visit the house of the applicant, meet the family members and record all the evidence and then revert back to the court. The civil courts will be the final authority on this issue. The legal heir certificate is an important document for purchase of property if the owner of the property is dead and settlement of property disputes within the family as well.
