KVP Matured - holder is not traceable.

Dear all

one my friend, his father invest in KVP and put nominee as his child, now the bond matured but his father was missing since last year, no FIR was made in police station. what is a remedy to get the money from the maturty of the bond. please help us.

Immediately FIR should be got lodged containing the actual date of missing and thereafter an indemnity bond should be presented before postal authorities along-with copy of FIR. Postal authorities shall release the maturity amount.

it is better to approach the postal department. explain the position and act as per their advise.
