No legal paperwork but has document in his handwriting

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 07 April 2010 This query is : Resolved
I invested 10 lakhs or so 2 years ago in Marble and Stone business with this man who I thought I trusted. The business has taken off - he will not put my name on the business as we first discussed. I said Fine, at least give me back my 10 laks i invested. Can I do something - or Do I say bye bye to my money. I have a written document in his handwriting that explaints details about the business. There are two options, (i) If the document is properly worded, you can seek the money back with interest due thereon by filing a money recovery suit, (ii) Lodging criminal complaint against him for cheating you. (in the complaint you can mention that he has taken the money as capital for the partnership business but not included your name). Here, you will have to satisfy the police regarding the delay in filing the complaint (you can mention that you were negotiating terms, etc.,) In case of inaction by police, you can file a private complaint u/s 200 Cr. PC.,
