A Partnership Firm has Consultancy Income below the exemption limit of Rs. 10 lac.
However,it obtained a Service Tax Registration No.

Is filing of ST 3 mandatory for the above firm?

If the service provider registered with service tax department and got service tax number then they must file NIl rtn even
Filing of return within the prescribed time limit is compulsory, even if it may be a nil return,
failing which penal action is attracted.
