Landlord asking signing money

Sir,
I have few more questions. On following basis -

I am tenet since 1995 & according to agreement there was no point of paying Maintenance chage for ,water & electricity. But have caluse for increasing rental and after 4 years @ 10 paisa per square foot.

Now , after 20 years since 1995, my landlord is asking for ₹400 maintenance charge in addition to present Rental.

Query:
1. Weather they can ask for the maintenance cahrge.

Since the landlord is incurring maintenance charges for your premises too, he can ask for the same. You have to decide based on the prevailing cordial atmosphere whether to rub with him and create an unpleasant living atmosphere.

Try for amicable solution.

If not possible show all documents to local lawyer and discuss.
