Dear Expert,

My sister in law is British passport holder, She is residing here from her marriage. it would be more then 5 years. She have life time VISA for India.

My query is can she purchase agriculture land in India. Regarding this clarification i have gone through from RBI Master circular no 4/2013-14 dated July 1, 2013.

In point no 8, it was relevant for me, But it was not so clear.

Please help me, clarify my dought if she can purchase agriculture land in her name, is there any extra procedure for the same?

If she becomes a Non Resident Indian, she would not purchase agricultural lands, as per RBI Guide LInes
