L e suit

My brother has filed L E suit in the court of small causes, Mumbai,against me and my family, claiming I am gratuitous licensee.(of My House in Mumbai)
Now he is asking for inspection of my documents. I thought it would logical, that, since he has filed the LE suit, he should give inspection ( and file evidence)before asking for inspection of my documents. It is like asking me to prove my innocence; instead of finding me guilty.
What is the correct procedure?
