Difference between 379 & 380 ipc

Pls find below 3 situations. Which Section attracts this?
1) A battery is stolen from a goods autorickshaw parked near a garage.
2) Jacky is stolen from a bus parked at busstand.
3) Dress materials stolen from a Shopping Mall.
Whether 379 or 380 IPC is attracted?
Also what does "Vessel" means as per IPC??

1 and 2 are Theft u/s 379 IPC. ! and 2 are neither building, nor tent nor vessel. Third one is 380 IPC.If all the three are committed by the employee of the owner of goods, then they are u/s 381 IPC. Vessel means conveyance used for transport in water.

380 I P C is the penal provison for theft in a building, vessel or tent. Section 379 IPC. is the penal provision for theft committed outside a building, tent or.a vessal

It is seen in state police directions that theft in a public place comes under 379 IPC. Hence how can sec. 380 IPC attract theft done at Shopping Mall?
