What is period of currency of a charge sheet issued under Rule 14 of CCS(CCA) Rules, 1965. Charge sheet was issued by the Disciplinary Authority in November 2006. No further action was taken on the Charge sheet except getting the written statement of defense of the delinquent official. Inquiring Authority, Presenting Officer not appointed. Is the Charge sheet issued in November 2006 still valid?

There is no fixed limitation period for the culmination of the charge sheet. A charge sheet once issued will come to an end only when the charges are dropped, or some orders are passed imposing punishment on the officer concerned.
In the meanwhile, if you find that the charge-sheet is being unduly kept in cold storage, you can definitely make a representation for speedy disposal of the same.

Write to chargesheet issuing authority immediately to withdraw the chargesheet as no actions are taken till date.Wait for 15 days and if reply or satisfactory reply is not received write to appellate authority to withdraw the chargesheet.As chargesheet is delayed there are two reasons 1.Either they have no evidence or u are victimised for further promotions.You prepare yourself for defence and write as mentioned above to authority.
