PLZ HELP ME ON FOLLOWING ISSUE.

WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF SALARY FOR DEDUCTING PROFESSION TAX?

THAT IS SALARY UPTO 5000 RS 175 PER MONTH
MORE THAN RS 10000 RS 200

If the professional tax is on salary, then salary is nothing but total emoluments. In other words it will include basic pay, DA, HRA, CCA, etc. etc. That is the gross pay and allowances of a month.
