Change of surname of my wife in my sons' birth certificate

Sir,
I am Louis Horo working in bank and posted to Trivandrum. In the birth certificate of my son, mother name was written Anjita Horo where as her name is Anjita beck. I am told by the school authority to rectify mothers' surname or else it will be problem for child's future education and even in getting passport. His birth certificate has been issued from assam(jorhat).

kindly guide me what to do.
