Dowry prohibition act section 3 and 7(3)

(Querist) 26 May 2013 This query is : Resolved
Respected Experts

My wife's elder sister was allegedly murdered by her husband for dowry demand. Can i as relative of my dead sister-in-law file a case under section 3 /4 of Dowry Prohibition Act 1961 against my wife and my in-laws for giving and taking dowry. Also can they take shield under section 7(3) of the act when i am making a complaint and i am not a aggrieved party but only a relative.

The idea put forth by you in not tenable before law. A family which is already under tense should not be harassed and humiliated by you as desired.

You had asked a question which I have replied in negative. if you are not satisfied then you are expected to put forth law under which you are entitled to move ahead as told.
