Good Evening Experts!
I am an ex-banker and have been accused in a bank fraud case under section 120b and PC act 13(1)d and 13(2) and am party in person in the CBI court. In order to defend the case effectively, I requested for certain registers, papers, documents etc under RTI from the complainant bank through its CPIO, who has refused to part with information under various sub-sections of 8 under the act. I have preferred appeal with the FAA.
Kindly enlighten whether the Supreme court of India/High Court or any other Indian courts are empowered or vested with the powers for requisitioning any type of documents material papers records from any banking institutions/departments/organising including security organisations established by the Central Government under Indian Evidence Act and if so to indicate relevant section and verdicts of the courts if available

The term "refused to part with information under various sub-sections of 8 under the act" cannot help you to get appropriate solution to your problem, unless you state what wexact reason was quoted by the CPIO. You can requisition the documents for your defence purposes, even through CBI court, if not provided by the appellate authority.
