Pension commutation

Dear All,

One of my officer asked about the Pension query. He said that one of his employee getting monthly pension from EPFO, but now he wanted to commute 50% pension, so please help me to know whether once pension claim settled was again claimed for commutation or not?

Commutation of pension under EPFO was earlier permissible up to 33% of pension due and that too only up to the date of retirement. But even that facility has now been withdrawn with effect from 26.09.2008.

So, question of commutation at this stage does not arise at all.
