share in Coparcenery property

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 28 June 2011 This query is : Resolved
I see that there are conflicting views on the subject of share of each member in coparcenery property.

One view is that - Each member has equal share. Share of each member is not constant but changes with addition or deletion of a member.

Other view is that Grand sons get the right only on the death of either the grandfather or the father. If both are alive he has no right.

My Question is - which is the authentic document or Act one needs to refer to to learn this?

Where does one find Supreme court judgements to understand how this subject in detail.

If you want to know in complete detail, then go through Mulla on Hindu Law, and Mayne's Hindu Law and Usage. In those books itself the SC decisions and decisions of other HCs have been cited at appropriate places.
