effective date of agreement

Dear Experts, If the agreement was made on 26th March 2011 but the agreement was signed and executed by the parties on 31st March 2011, which date will be considered as the effective date of the agreement ? Will it be the from the date it was signed and executed ?

If there exist no clause regarding its effectiveness, 31st March 2011, the date on which parties signed the document.

It depends on the type & clauses of the agreement. There is no constraint in holding the effective date from 26th. March.
