K.S.Srinivas (Expert) 27 July 2011
Calculation of compensation:-
In case of death:
Compensation Payable = Wages(Rs.8,000 max) x 50% x Relevant factor
(Subject to a minimum of Rs. 1,20,000)
Relevant factor is the factor mentioned in IV of the Act
The relevant factor is specified based on the age of the injured employee
The more the age, the lesser the compensation
The compensation is therefore determined on the basis of age of the employee

In case of Permanent disablement:
Compensation Payable = Wages(Rs.8,000 max) x 60% x Relevant factor x percentage of disablement
(Subject to a minimum of Rs. 1,40,000 in case of disablement)
In case of more than one disablement, the sum total of loss of earning capacity in Schedule I to be taken into consideration for calculating the compensation
