MOU--- Zero legal Force ?

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 07 January 2011 This query is : Resolved
I have come to know that MOU's carry zero legal force.

That is why shrewd business people take Agreements( Agreement are fully loaded with legal force) but give MOU's.

Is it right?

MOU is being signed at the initial stage only with main objectives. Latter the both the parties will enter a detailed agreement.

I AGREE WITH MR. ARUNAGIRI

Arugiri Ji and tripathi sir,yet my question has remained unanswered.

The question was whether MOU has any legal force or not?
Ajay Bansal (Expert) 07 January 2011
There is no legal force in a MOU.

"Memorandum of Understanding", the word understanding has a different meaning than an "Agreement". We may understand but need not enter into a legal binding agreement.
Kirti Kar Tripathi (Expert) 07 January 2011
unless it not become an agreement, it can not be enforced. i
