Veena : Dowry case time limit
Sir, Meri shhadi 2003 ti main delhi main hui thi aur shhadi ke pahale se hi dowry ki demand honi shuru ho gayee thi jo poori nahi ho saki to mere in laws ne mujhe 6 mahine baad hi mere maayke bhej diya aur vaapas nahi bulaya. un 6 mahino main mera saath maar peet hui,mera abortion bhu karaya gaya.ab main tab se apane maayke main rah rahi hun aur ab FIR likhwane police station gayye lekin police walon ne kaha ki meri shade delhi main hui hai aur maar peet aur abortion bhi to aap delhi main FIR karen aur u.p. main koi case nahi banta aur shaadi ke 7 saal bad dowry case bhi nahi banta..main kya karu?

Police is correct, itne puraane incidents ka police case ab nahi banega.
Aap ab kya chahti hai?
Baaki 7 saal ki koi limit nahi hai, dowry case ke liye.

you can file a case of domestic violence and for the harassment and man handling and also for the forceful abortion.

Lekin iska matalab kya main Delhi main kisi road pe jae case ladungi kyon ki mere maayke wale yahan rahate hain aur mera ek maintanance ka case bhi maine up main daakhil kiya tha jo ki mere favor main gaya lekin us case main bhi mere in-laws absconding rahe,,ab mujhe pata chala ki 2007 main hi unhone mere husband ki second marrige kardi aur unke do baccche bhi hain..kay main court ke through FIR nahi kara sakti??

If there is no time limit for filing a Dowry case then why the Police is denying...And secondly,my case is all about Domestic Violence,cruelty and Dowry Demand by my in-laws and for these I do have right to file a case against them and Police is suppose file FIR.

Main Mr.Kapoor se poochana chahti hun ki Police correct hai to uski vajah kya hai?...ye ki mere sath jo incident hua vo purana hai ya phir mujhe delhi jakar case ladna chahiye...aur mujhe U.P. koi bhi case file arne ka right nahi hai?

Sorry as per latest judgement of SCm even domestic violence case can not be filed there is a time limit of ONE YEAR now.

There is a period of limitation. CrPC 468 defines it.
Uska matlab hai ki 498a ka case, last cruelty/ harassment ke 3 saal mein hi dala ja sakta hai.
Aap itne time baad vaise bhi case kyun karna chahti ho? Shaanti se divorce lo aur chutti karo, jindagi itni barbaad ho chuki hai, baaki kyun karti ho?
