Defamation suit

hello sir, Can i file defamation suit against my sister in law and her mother. My sister in law is 17 years old and her mother is putting false allegations of sexual harrassment. she has put in false allegations infront of all my family members. i want to punish her through appropriate law. i have heard about this defamation suit. she has verbally said all this. my salary is 15000 per month and how much amount that i can impose her as penalty under defamation law. my family has gone through mental agony since last 2 months now. please kindly help.
