What is the procedure to change my wife's last name from her maternal to my family's last name? Please suggest.

Although advises advanced are correct to a question seeking how to for a name change;but the question is "how to change my wife's last name from her maternal to my family's last name"

Does it really require all that? Can not she directly adopt husband's family SIRNAME?

There is no hard and fast procedure for changing the Sirname as desired. A publication in the news [a[er is even sufficient to do so.
