Sirs,
The Association of flat owners is registered with the Registrar of Societies. Financial indiscipline and irregularities are going on for the past 10 years by a management headed by an influenced person. How to bell the cat is the problem. Whom to report and who has the authority to inspect the records of the Socity?

Dear Mr. T.shankar Rao,
Mismanagement is a common problems associated with registered societies. There are examples far to many where governmental intervention has been sought and administrators appointed to takeover the running of the society. Generally in the case of registered authorities it is the registrar of society's who is the appropriate authority. The registrar can direct the dissolution of the managing committee and order re-election if you are able to prove mismanagement and being directly affected as being a member of the society. It is pertinent to note that there are various grounds on which such representation can be made. As the law on registered society is a state subject one would have to look up the local law of registered society to see the grounds. Even in this case assistance would (required to make such representations.
In real terms if you are dissatisfied by the order or award of the registrar you can take an appeal further to the appellate tribunal created under the applicable local act. If the local law doesnot provide for appeal then one can also go under writ petition to the high court of the state.
