I , WANT TO KNOW , AN ADVOCATE CAN BE A INSURANCE AGENT , IF NOT THAN WHY.

A person enrolled as an advocate is guided by the Advocates Act and the Act proscribes an advocate to take any profession other than making practice in court.

yes.i concur.
B.R. BHALLA, ADVOCATE (Expert) 17 August 2010
I think, these days, the Insurance Agents are not called as "Agents" but are designated as "Insurance Advisors". An Advocate, as part of his professional work can undertake advisory function and advising any person on the right choice of Insurance policies. The Insurance policies, these days, are more of nature of investment than simply the cover. Besides, for the Advocates engaged in taxation, this can be termed as part of the tax planning and accordingly, the Bar Council should not have any objection to this kind activity, which is only an advisory function only.
