my dad hired a lawyer to solve a case but that lawyer in the lieu of solving the case threatened my dad about bad consequences the case and took 4 blank cheques from him. one of the cheque bounced. now that lawyer has filed a civil suit against my dad for recovery of money claiming that my dad took friendly loan from his client and not returned it. truly speaking we never took any money from him rather we were laid into a trap.

is dere any help for us. wat can we plead in court.

Your dad may complain to the Bar Council. You need to furnish the following information for a complete guidance in the matter:

1. What is the date of the cheque that bounced?
2. What about the other three cheques?
3. Is there a cheque bounce case filed against your dad?
4. What is the cheque amount?

a too agree with mr. rao. furhter your dad can also file a police complaint against that advocate.

Ask your lawyyer to give details of uour assignments or work done by him and then you compare the details of fees charged by him.And accordingly do as said by the experts as above.
