Speed post with a/d

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 19 December 2011 This query is : Resolved
When speed post has been sent along with the acknowledgement on delivery (A/D) and when the acknowledgement didn’t return back to the sender then how to convince the court with the receipt of the speed post as a piece of evidence that the post has been sent to the addressee.

Whether the “print out of speed post tracking” on internet will help? Will it be a “substantive piece of evidence” that the post has been delivered to the addressee?

And if the speed post tracking on internet doesn’t provide the details of its delivery to the addressee then what to do?

Regards!

Yes, the courts do consider the original print outs of status of delivery as valid piece of evidence like the AD Card.

It does provide such details.

But on internet you can get the delivery report of speed post only withing some specified period only (perhaps 3 – 6 months only). It will not cover the old speed post because the old data gets deleted from the server.

Then you can obtain such information by applying under RTI Act.
The Post would definitely give such information.

Even without RTI, you can have the official confirmation about delivery of speed post article on application, as you could not receive the acknowledgment, which was required to be delivered to you by the department of post.
