If I have to pay the tax in any case then how is this Tax calculated on Second Hand Cars?
Is there any slab for them or is it direct 6% (too costly...)

Dear SYED QAISAR ALI,
Thanks for the reply.
Actually I have confirmed this thing from many sources and everyone has its own opinion. That is why I had to consult this forum.
Most people say that I have to pay 6% Tax on the reduced value.
Some people say that there are some slabs for the tax on used cars in Punjab and I have to pay around 7-8K tax and on the other side some say no tax at all just transfer using NOC.
Are you sure about the rules what you said that they implement for Punjab also. I think there were few changes in RTO rules in Punjab recently which have increased this Tax amount

In some states, namely Gujarat, while applying for NOC, you can apply for refund of unused portion of the life time tax paid and to pay the proportionate life time tax in the new state while registering the vehicle in the new state afresh. The Punjab rules are to be clarified from the local RTO office.
