Respected experts, My client resides in US and wants to execute a special GPA in favour of her brother who is in Bangalore to register a flat in her name. Please explain me the procedure to execute special GPA in such circumstance. Does she has to execute GPA at US and get it notarised there and send his brother? The matter is urgent. Thanks in advance.

Yes she will have to execute a GPA but before
counselor at Indian embassy in U.S. and not before a notary where after that very GPA would be presented before sub Registrar of area where property has to be bought ,for its registration and only there after flat could be legally bought on basis of GPA so registered.

I agree with our Expert but for attestation he has to be before an Notary at Us i suppose and it is as per law of the land. Just enquire with a Advocate over there.

The special GPA should be attested by the Indian consulate at residing country.

The merely notarised GPA will not work out. The special GPA has to be a registered document. Check up if the Registrar of that state allows.
