The Solicitor examination is being conducted by Bombay Incorporated Law Society, 2nd Flr High Court New Bldg, Opp Bar Council, Fort, Mumbai - 400001 Phone Nos.022-22673470.
By getting in touch with them, you will get complete details.
The answer to your query (1) to (3) is 3 years.
For answer to query at (4) to (6) you have to get in touch with the BIL Society directly.

I had heard that concept of solicitor is abolished since last 15 years. Anyway the answer is informative one.

Dear Mr. Arun,
You are right.
But the Bombay Incorporated Law Society still conducts the examination and it is really a tough one. Very few percentage of articles are able to clear the examination every year. Since the pass percentage is very less, those who clear it stand in a better footing. Most of the firms in Mumbai are Solicitor oriented.
