Money lender haressment

one of m friend took a loan of rs1,50,000 in February from ASHISH KOUSHIK R/O RZ- 32 VIJAY PARK NAYA BAZAR NAJAFGARH NEW DELHI-110043 PH. 9212208666, 7503871888 is in the business of lending money. he dose not have any license, is charging 50% p.m.(i.e. 2000 per day) interest from him and also charging penalty for late payment of interest. my friend have already paid him 95000 as penalty and interest, but he still asking 190000 from him he is not in a position to pay such a huge amount soon. now mr. ashish threatening him that he will file a case of cheque bounce. he also molesting him in front of his family members please sir help my friend he is sever depression and i feared that he might take any wrong step.

First of all do you have proof that the lender is charging 50% p.m interest, your query is bereft of facts

Yes and the sum is now around 240000

For answering your questions certain facts are required to be known which have been asked by Mr.Vishal. No body can charge so much of interest beyond RBI guidelines. For asecertaining that or proving that he is charging that much of interset, it is required to be known what evidence you have for that. Are you paying the interest by cheques which will prove that you have paid that much of money so far? Most likely not. Normally in such cases, the interest & penalties are collected in cash. So what evidence do you have to prove that the money lender is collecting so much interest? On coming to know this further advice can be given. If you do not have any such evidence, you can not do much for relief.
