Sir, I have seen your learned counsils answer. This puts me a question as - suppose the lorry driver is an employee of the company - the n what is the situation ? Secondly - coming to a daily situation - we engage a Taxi- We do not / cannot ask every time wether the drivers is having a real license ? / the vechile is insured & it is cutternt etc. Suppose some thing happens - if the above is missing - then what shall we do . You can read about the court in Tamil Nadu - is taking poessition of the Government Busses for not giving the compensation to the dead victims / legal heirs.This is because the Govt busses are not insured. If this is the case for the Govt bus - then imagine for the poor chap who travels in Taxi ?

Sir kindly note that this is the problem of state and traffic persons has to take care of those chaps who are driving without licence and without insurance. But it is mandatory to carry licence and insurance papers with the vehicle. If you need you can check those papers and then get into vehicle or else you can report the same to concerned authorities. In case there is no insurance then the persons personal liability comes to play and his assets can be attached for his rash and negligent driving

One is required to drive the vehicle with all relevant and valid documents thereto. State authorities responsible for traffic are liable to check and enforce law upon erring persons but in case of victims, definitely such things are hurdle and there is no solution thereto.

Learned sirs/ Madam
It is all fine. But how can we verify wether the Licence is duplicate or origional. The problem is Though I have a valid DRIVING licence I carry only the xerox copy , which is allowed. Now - you know any thing can be xerox, even the duplicate also. In such type of actual situation , what can we do ? How to take care of our self ? I am sure if you ask all the origional we will not get any taxi / auto any where. It is a n irony the in Chennai lot of autos are running without permit / valid papers. These are benami of powerefull politicians./
