Dear sir, Iam christian, female married in 1996. My father inherited my grandfather’s intestate property. My father gave that property to my two brothers equally and registration was done in 2006 on their names directly. When my grandfather died in the year 1963, one of my brothers and I were not born. The registration and mutation was not done in my father’s name till today. Somebody said Indian succession act was not clear in this regard. Please let me know how to proceed to seek justice if there is a chance on any grounds to claim granddaughter's share while father being alive. My brothes are not willing to give the least to me. Please help me..... sujatha

Thank you very much sir.By the law of mutation, my father became whole owner of that property, if this status is correct,I think he can sell or gift or what ever he wants he can do. on the other side I am his daughter (not his sister.)Only Hindu succession act, by the amendment, granted daughter's equal share over father's property. it is not clear in the Indian succession act.keeping the above points in view, please suggest me how should I proceed.

You have no right as long as your father is alive.
