Sir,
I am contesting a matrimonial case against my husband and his family members. My mother-in-law is a pensioner but they are denying it in court. I know, the name and address of the SBI branch from where she withdraws her monthly pension.
My question is, can I get information under RTI Act from the bank about following two questions:
1. Whether she is having a pension account in your bank?
2. If yes, then how much amount she is drawing as pension/month?
Whether Bank is bound to reply the questions or they may deny, saying personal account information can not be provided.
Thank you if you help me to show the way by which I can get these information to put in front of court as proof.

Banks will not part with such information of third parties and it is exempted under RTI Act. You can file RTI application with the employers of your mother-in-law. Though it is not mandatory to give reasons for seeking information under RTI Act, you can as well explain the reasons why you require such information.
Bank is not the only source to get such information. And Bank is exempted for providing such information in the Act itself. You find out other sources to know the account number of your mother-in-law.

You can call the Bank officials for evidence by sending summons through court.
