Regarding writ petition

i recently filed a writ petition in high court. On the very first hearing on 6th august , hon'ble judge ordered that i must submit a representation attested by other party (respondents) that they dont agree with me on the issue. My lawyer asked for 11th of august as next hearing and that was given to us.on same day , i approached other party and they started reconsidering my appeal which they had flatly refused before me filing the writ. Since there are just 2 working days between 6th and 11th , i may not be able to submit that representation on or before 11th.
1.Is it possible that my lawyer can get some more time?( although seems highly unlikely as we stressed on such short period)
2. If this petition is dismissed, can i file a new one after i obtain that representation form other party

Hostel accomodation

Good Evening Sir/Madam,
we (three students) are PhD scholar at a govt. engineering college. three batches (B.Tech 80 students, M.Tech 25 students, PhD 3 students)have been staying in this hostel since last year.
In this new academic session July 2014, chief warden of college published a notice on college website that B Tech and PhD scholars have to vacate these rooms in hostel while M. Tech students will stay in the same hostel.
B.Tech students have already shifted to new hostel but we, the PhD scholars did not vacate the hostel. hostel warden and the care taker of the hostel have unlocked our rooms in our absence. they have shifted our room stuff in store room and then told us about this thing.

could you please tell us that-

1. how much time we could get to vacate these rooms as per law.
2- they haven't given any notice in person, so can we take any action against this torture as M. tech students are staying in the same hostel and this rule was applied on only b.tech and PhD scholars.

3- we want to take legal action against hostel warden and the care taker as they have breached our rooms in our absence. some of my research work(hard file not soft copy, some important calculations had written on paper)is missing. i dint find my important research papers.
4- what can i do in this regard.

waiting for your reply.
