Looking for writing an affidavit, what are the legal term can I use, what are the clauses or what precautions do I have to take.

Affidavit should contain the following elements:
1) Name of the person giving affidavit
2) It must start with "I, ______, son of ____, aged about __ years, having office at/residing at ______, do hereby solemnly affirm and sincerely state as follows"
3) "I am the deponent/_____ (relation for which the affidavit is given) and I am well acquainted with the facts and circumstances of the case" must be the second paragraph
4) State the contents for which the affidavit is given.
5) At the end write
Solemnly affirmed at Before Me
Chennai on this the
11th day of September
2008 and signed his Advocate Chennai
name in my presence

Good format provided by Mr Padmpriya.
The clauses used in the affidavit depend on the nature of the affidavit ie for what purpose the affidavit is being executed.

The purpose of giving an affidavit is a must to draft one. However the basic format given by Padmapriya Sir is nice and covered all the basic ingredients.
