Hi,

Is gratuity act 1972 applicable on cheritable societies. If yes, under which provision?

The definition of "employer" as conatained in sec.2(f) of the Payment of Grtuity Act covers "any establishemnt".As such a charitable society would be covered by the Act. Under Sec.4 of the Act the society would be under obligation to pay gratuity to its employee on completion of 5 years or more service.
