I resigned from my previous company on 14 July 2009 due to some dispute with my boss.
I have sent my resignation by official mail from home stating that “I understand that 30days notice is standard. However, if at all possible, I would appreciate you releasing me from employment with the company as soon as possible. I would be glad to provide any assistance I can during this transition."
My HR Manager called me on 16 July 2009 saying that please come to the office for completing handing over process and promised me for relieving ASAP. I cooperate with the company and completed the handover process within the week, but they have not relieved me as promised. They called me again and again to come; at least they relieve me on 30 August 2009 without full and final settlement. Now they are deducting salary for non serving of notice period.
Please suggest my course of action in this regard.
Thanks in advance

please sent a legal notice by regd post asking for reliefs you needed in this connection and wait for 2-3 weeks before further actions.
go for actual legal remedies only if the amount involved is justifiable for such steps.
