  • bhimsingh says : ELLIGIBLE FOR PASSPORT
After your advice(reg RTI act),i went to PP office & asked for the status of my PP,their reply was to come on 18th Jan'12 as my letter dtd 30th Dec'11 is under process.Below is the letter which i had sent to PP office. Date – 30th Dec'11 To, Passport Officer Panaji-Goa. Sub – File No- F015415,Dtd-14th Oct’11 Sir, I had applied for fresh passport on 14th Oct’11. Police verification was done on 29th Oct’11. All required documents were submitted to ponda police station. As i was keeping track of my PP status through your website & it came to my notice that still police report was not submitted to your office.I myself had to visit ponda police station on 22nd Nov’11 to find out the reason. Ponda P/S informed me that a new query has been raised by Special Branch-Panaji(CDI), asking for my Parents nationality. As I understand, according to INDIA passport rules/act a person can apply/receive PP if person is of INDIAN CITIZEN. To make it clear i had shown them "Provision of the Indian Citizenship Act - 1955" By Birth (Section 3) Which says:- (i) A person born in India on or after 26th January 1950 but before 1st July, 1987 is a citizen of India by birth irrespective of the nationality of his parents. I am the APPLICANT,my police records or any other records are very clear.I have applied for my PP & not of my parents.According to my knowledge Citizenship Document should be asked if an APPLICANT is a citizen of India by Registration or Naturalization which comes under "Provision of the Indian Citizenship Act-1955" By Registration(Section 5(1) & (4)) By Naturalization(Section 6) After this SB-Panaji(CID) forwarded documents to your office on 13th Dec’11 as updated by them. Then on 22nd Dec’11 i visited your Enquiry Counter for the status of my PP,they informed me that a letter has been sent to my permanent address asking reply for same query. On 29th Dec’11 visited again at Enquiry Counter requesting to allow me to meet you as i didn’t receive any letter from PP office. They refused to allow me permission for meet & asked me to write letter with my reply. I am concerned if such questions has been asked to any other applicants whoever it may be by CID or PP office.I am 28years old, born, education, work, pay all my taxes in goa.I was never interested to travel or work outside india, but this time I will be eligible for a training program conducted by my company which happens every year outside india. Just FYI.My parents settled in goa for last 40years, employed in reputed company for 34years & retired. Doesn’t acquire any citizenship, all doc’s related to this has been submitted to ponda police station on my 2nd visit. I hope this letter will clear your doubts & process my passport ASAP. Thanking you, Makkad sir, now status of my application on website is"apllication transfered to policy section, plz meet PRO" when i went to enquiry counter their reply was"this type of status is show to all other applications also,so come on 18thjan" Now i want to apply for RTI , plz give me format & questions to be asked. This will be helpful sir.
