(Querist) 06 February 2013 This query is : Resolved
Now-a days every oraganisation whether it's a co. or a bank ask the new employees to execute a bond for a lumpsum amount. Now suppose you have signed a bond for Rs 2Lakhs for serving the co./bank for a minimum period of 3 yrs.after joining you found that either you have been posted in a remote area far from your family(especially for the married woman)or any uncomfortable circumstances arises. If the employer demands the bond amount is it possible to refuse the same or can we sign the bond by putting any condition in it on fulfilment of which we will continue the job?

Of course, you can refuse to sign the bond, but at the cost of the opportunity to be selected for the job. If you put any condition if that is not acceptable to the employer, the same thing happens, i.e., rejection of the candidature.

It is you, who have to see whether you can fulfill the consitions of the employer or not, as once a candidate becomes an employee, he has to serve his employer wherever he posts him/her. No option, except to chose to work or lose the opportunity.

As of commonsense, selection of a candidate by any organisation is made to serve the organisation, not to take care of the choice place, position or convenience of the candidate.

So, if unable to fulfill the conditions of the bond, it is better not to sign the bond and leave the opportunity in wait for another opportunity, as that costs very dear later to the candidate, if some better opportunity comes at hand. In that condition, he/she feels helpless either to arrange payment of the bond amount or by facing the legal action.
