Dear all,
Is there a provision for notarisation of affidavit for filing cases at consumer courts?
Does different state can implement this act in different form with different procedures?
I know that in Kerala, there is no need of "Notarisation" for consumer cases.

For the purposes of presentation in courts, affidavits need only to be sworn before an oath commissioner. It need not be notarised. However, if notarized, it is not invalid. This applies for all affidavits whether for presentation before consumer courts or before civil or criminal courts including family courts.

There is no provision requiring either notarisation affidavit or sworn before oath commissioner, that are to be filed in a court or consumer forum.
Affidavits, to be filed before court of law are simply to be sworn before any advocate or magistrate or gazetted officer.
If the affidavit is used as declaration, then it has to be notarised.
Refer section 1 of Evidence act.
